We are building the applications to help millions of our dedicated users do more with their NGINX servers and are currently searching for an excellent Product Management Engineer to join our team in Seattle or San Jose.

Working in the NGINX Business Unit at F5, you will use your skills to provide product analysis, product strategy input, and build demonstrations to show the value of our product to our customers and internal sales teams. You will be the technical authority for our products and our market, and you will work with our product managers to understand the customer needs, analyze market and vendor dynamics, and set product direction. You will also be responsible for input on the technical design of our products to ensure it meets the needs of our customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Produce demos and trainings on the security value and use of the product
  • Assist in crafting sales materials focusing on competitive advantages
  • Provide product and market analysis to product management and product development
  • Participate in the overall product strategy
  • Collect technical requirements from customers in security, software development, DevOps, and other teams
  • Partner closely with other team members and departments
  • Perform analyses and testing of competitor products in order to improve F5 product management requirements
  • Contributing authority on competitors and their products


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and business audiences
  • Software development experience and/or security experience with apps based on web technologies, including HTTP, JavaScript, and HTML. Functional experience with APIs and microservices.
  • Functional knowledge of deploying apps in data centers and/or public cloud environments
  • Ability to rapidly understand new technologies
  • Experience with various performance tools associated with stress testing preferred
  • Competitive intelligence experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on a dynamic, milestone-driven test/product development cycle
  • Love of hard problems


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science with 5 years of experience; or equivalent education and/or work experience
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience required in Software Development, IT, technical product management, technical sales, consulting related to web based products or security products, etc.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in application, network, data security, or related field
