Inside Sales Business Development Rep

Position Summary:

Responsible for the sale of F5 Networks products to customer and non-customer accounts. This is achieved by:

1. Direct outbound efforts via phone, email and social media.

2. Responding to inbound activity.

3. Engaging marketing leads to connect and convert contacts into potential buyers.

4. Transition contacts to sales team to extend and advance initial conversations into revenue opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Respond to leads and inbound prospect activity with the level of immediacy and persistence needed to maximize number and size of sales engagements for F5 products and services and meet internal SLAs

• Execute on territory prospecting plan for whitespace penetration to efficiently reach attainment goals pertaining to meeting and opportunity development

• Drive territory prospecting plan in whitespace segment to increase engagements for territory teams

• Cold-call prospective clients within an assigned geographic territory to introduce them to F5's products, application solutions and services or drive event attendance

• Leverage email and social media to drive F5 and industry messaging through outreach campaigns to increase inbound activity and non-customer interaction

• Consult on projects quarterly working with manager, directors and operations

• Organize time to drive business initiatives

• Attend trade shows and other sales and marketing events

• Responsible for upholding F5's Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Core sales skills related to initiating conversations, uncovering basic needs, connecting needs to high level f5 solution potential and driving interest in continued discussion with sales team members

• Skills in navigating phone systems, voicemail systems, front desk operators and administrative assistants to reach intended contacts

• Drive to reach activity and results goals leading to future f5 revenue potential

• Ability to manage processes and capture data in Salesforce.com

• Ability to work with others to reach team-based goals

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite and messaging environment to interact with team members

• High competency level in verbal and written communication

• Experience working in team sales environment

• Basic knowledge of F5 products and services

Qualifications:

Min 2+ years of customer service experience or 2+ year of sales experience

4 year degree is preferred; not required

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.

• Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.

• Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).

• Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 10% of the time spent traveling.
