Our team of Application Administrators is responsible for managing the resolution of application and system issues that arise across a business. An Application administrator job description seeks candidates with both business skills and technical IT knowledge, and demands an ability to prioritize multiple high-level applications and tasks under pressure.

What will you do?

  • You'll provide IT Operational support by resolving incidents, requests, and problems associated with OBIEE, Tableau and Informatica
  • You will also support other applications like Fusions Middleware, Java Applications, Boomi and Apigee API Gateway
  • Provide strong comprehensive administration of assigned systems, including product evaluation, selection, installation, integration, user support, problem resolution, & ongoing maintenance of hardware, operating systems, networking, and application software
  • Take technical/lead on large/complex systems and infrastructure projects.
  • Establish & Maintain up-to-date configuration and recovery documentation for assigned systems.
  • Lead ongoing communications regarding system issues/activities with all partners: department executives and managers, end users, IT staff, vendors, customers, etc.
  • Partner with our Data Management CoE team, fix and provide solutions for production issues
  • Provide estimates for candidate Enhancement and Defect work to be included in release
  • Improve the performance of applications via load and stress testing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Should have experience in Analysis, Design, Development, unit testing.
  • Should have strong knowledge in data warehousing concepts and quality process standards.
  • Siebel Analytics, OBIEE 11G and BI Apps experience.
  • Experience in deploying Web Catalog and RPD.
  • Good Informatica & DAC experience.
  • Experience in Informatica workflow deployments.
  • Good experience in Tableau reporting system.
  • Performance tuning / Server management of OBIEE, Tableau and Informatica server environment (clustering, Load balancing).
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize work, juggling daily support responsibilities with project/product driven roles and actions to automate/evolve the environment.
  • Identify and perform the daily production administration tasks
  • Deploy integration processes to environments
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning and system resource optimization.
  • Setup and respond to standardized alerts, perform regular log analysis, monitor and maintain systems to identify any issues. Maintain overall system health to improve system uptime, and ensure delivery of service level objectives.
  • On Call Support as required during the week ends and off hours
  • Root Cause analysis for Interface failures/Data issues raised by business
  • Support development teams with performance tuning and troubleshooting issues
  • Proven hands-on familiarity with networking (TCP/IP) and operating systems (Windows 2008/2012/, Linux).
  • In depth understanding of MSSQL or ORACLE databases
  • Solid Problem Analysis and Solving Skills: solid ability to troubleshoot a complex issue down to potential contributing components, identify root case if possible or gather supporting evidence for escalation
  • Solid ability to incorporate daily sustaining roles with progress on strategic improvements, issues, deciding what requires the greatest immediate attention, and coordinating actions to layer focus to achieve the greatest efficiency.
  • Solid ability to work with customers or customer representatives such as Customer Service and Product Management to understand requirements and translate them into efficient system designs and operational support structures.
  • Scripting and automation experience
  • In depth understanding of LINUX OS environment
  • Solid systems analysis and design skills with broad focus on supporting systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or closely-related field, or the foreign equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience in OBIEE Applications Administration
  • Experience in Tableau Applications Administration
  • Experience in Informatica Administration
  • Strong base of operating system and network basics through school (Associate degree), certification, or applicable experience.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically or working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends). Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 5% of the time spent traveling.
  • Job may be performed on-site at a customer facility or in an office environment sitting at a desk or computer table.
