Position Overview

The Senior Compensation Design Consultant, LTI & Executive Compensation uses advanced compensation expertise to evaluate, recommend, design, implement, and administer long-term incentive compensation plans, programs, policies and procedures that support achievement of business objectives, ensuring plan designs are competitive and effective, and that documentation, communications, and reporting procedures are clear, understandable, and meet legal and regulatory requirements. This position will also be responsible for supporting the Company's Human Capital Committee through meeting material preparation, executive benchmarking, regularly interfacing with external compensation consultants, and contributing to the production of public company reporting such as the annual proxy statement, ESG reports, and other disclosures.

This position can be remote or operate out of any of our U.S. locations.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Research, benchmark, and analyze competitive market data and best practices for long-term incentive compensation programs and executive compensation practices.
  • Administer and continuously evaluate long-term incentive compensation programs and executive compensation programs and practices, ensuring effectiveness and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide thought leadership on long-term incentive program design and executive compensation practices in public companies.
  • Collaborate with partners and cross-functional stakeholders across total rewards, human resources, finance, legal, business unit leadership, and external vendors as necessary to resolve issues and meet business objectives.
  • Lead and administer the annual executive benchmarking process and annual executive compensation planning process.
  • Lead and administer the annual equity award process and new hire equity award guidelines and grant processes.
  • Provide support to the Company's Human Capital Committee through preparation of meeting materials, interfacing with external compensation consultants, and contributing to external reporting and disclosure documents, such as the annual proxy statement, annual report, equity-related filings, and ESG reports.
  • Lead or participate in other long-term incentive-related projects and initiatives.
  • Compensation expertise, data manipulation and analysis, and well-developed consulting skills to influence decision-makers.
  • Ability to work with very limited direction and drive foundational projects to completion in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to display complex data sets in a simple, straightforward manner to discerning stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive data.

  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a computer and phone simultaneously.
  • Ability to use a telephone through a headset.
  • Ability and means to travel up to 5% between Exact Sciences locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources management, industrial relations, business administration, finance, accounting, statistical analysis, social sciences, or similar discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in compensation.
  • 5+ years of experience in long-term incentive compensation and executive compensation design and benchmarking in a public company.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of compensation experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in long-term incentive and executive compensation practice design and benchmarking in a global, publicly-traded organization.
  • Experience analyzing and integrating long-term incentive and executive compensation programs and practices following mergers, acquisitions, and divestures.
  • Experience with Payfactors or similar compensation survey management technologies.
  • Experience contributing to or leading preparation of meeting materials for human capital or compensation committees in public companies.
  • Experience with Workday Advanced Compensation.
  • Strong systems thinking, process improvement orientation, detail orientation, business acumen, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to quickly absorb and analyze complex information from a variety of sources to propose and execute solutions to business problems.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
