Senior Manager, Technical Business Analysis

Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Technical Business Analysis is responsible for leading a team in designing and optimizing business processes and systems for Exact Sciences value-driven information technology (IT) solutions. This role collaborates with stakeholders, IT business solutions, enterprise platforms, and application developers to develop a consistent business analysis framework that supports the needs of the business.  The Senior Manager, Technical Business Analysis role is responsible for ensuring that requirements deliver on the stated business objectives and the business analysis team is supported with the tools needed to deliver projects with high quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to drive prioritization of projects and define the feature roadmap for projects of medium complexity.
  • Establish the standard for quality in project execution, cross-functional communication, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Work with subject matter experts and other IT partners to design processes and systems that add business capabilities, improve operational efficiencies, and increase the organization’s ability to scale.
  • Oversee detailed documentation, such as process flow charts, decision tables, user stories, and business requirements documents to aid in the development and refinement of new processes.
  • Provide input and support to business during the implementation phase, while conducting software user testing, composing SOPs, and/or conducting employee training.
  • Maintain backlog of projects and features.
  • Propose functional, skillset, and resource needs.
  • Communicate with vendors on business analysis process and tools and participates in ideating through solution options.
  • Propose phasing strategies and negotiate scope to efficiently implement projects.
  • Provide project status updates to team members and senior management in both verbal and written format.
  • Quantify return on investment.
  • Lead a team who will effectively collaborate cross-functionally to elicit high level business requirements.
  • Lead a team that will serve as frontline support in troubleshooting process and systems issues post-launch.
  • Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.
  • Communicate goals clearly to employees to ensure understanding and success in achieving them.
  • Motivate and inspire employees to do their best work through coaching.
  • Maintain morale and support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Apply creative thinking to identify new and different ways to solve problems.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between local Exact Sciences locations.
  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8+ years of experience working in a business analyst capacity.
  • 5+ years of experience in a direct management capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to master business and technical concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp complex business needs and requirements.
  • Strong SDLC and/or ITIL knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of the requirements management processes and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
