We’re looking for a bright, dynamic Senior Communications Executive on a Temporary basis with a passion for education to join our fast-moving team of marcoms experts.You are an excellent communicator, a stickler for detail, brilliant at nurturing relationships and adapting to different types of campaigns. As with all of our team, you have a desire to make a positive impact in the educational world and the curiosity to seek out new ways to do so. As our Senior Communications Executive, you’ll be central in supporting the delivery and execution of multiple communications campaigns across a range of channels, including: PR, educator outreach, social media, media buying and events. Our clients and sponsors range from global corporations to leading charities and government organisations, providing a diverse mix of communication campaigns within the education market. Key accounts include: British Army, British Olympic Association, Aldi and Sport England. Key responsibility areas
Support EVERFI’s communications offer across client business, including business development. The role involves the delivery of client communications proposals, and the development of our creative services communications offer. Demonstrate a passion for comms - enthusing and informing those you interact with about the brands and clients we work with is critical to the position’s success. This will involve cultivating a network of influencers, keeping abreast of education market innovations and using strategic and creative thinking to develop our offer. Implement integrated communications plans for complex/multifaceted projects for a wide variety of clients, from corporates, to government and charities. Lead relationships with key clients and suppliers.
PR & Communications
- Work with the Communications Manager to create and implement communications strategies
- Work with the Communications Manager to develop new business proposals
- Write Press Releases, features, thought leadership pieces, case studies and other articles for clients and on behalf of EVERFI independently
- Track and monitor campaigns and report back to clients
- Influencer Engagement - Engage with bloggers and education influencers to implement comms campaigns to maximise support and reach
- Influencer database – Identify and update our bank of influencers across different areas of education
- Research new online media opportunities – online magazines, newsletters to refresh master media list
- Attend client events and industry conferences
- Implement social media campaigns, developing a distinct online presence by attracting high numbers of followers through social media channels
- Use web analytics software to monitor performance of client websites and make recommendations for improvement
Account Management
- Develop strong client relationships across key accounts
- Provide day to day operational support of client accounts and lead on independent communications accounts
- Directly interact with client via phone/email/meetings
- Navigate through different types of relationships ie direct with client or via manager or projects account team
- Take the lead in communications collateral, including writing, editing and proof-reading
- Take ownership of discrete aspects of projects and support overall project plans
- Become involved in new business pitches: providing research, brainstorming ideas, creating visual presentations and presenting to potential clients
- Help manage campaigns to ensure that they come together as scheduled and within budget – proactively help to problem solve where issues arise to ensure excellent execution.
- Own production of reporting documents, e.g. status reports, minutes, agendas, coverage reports, accurately and quickly and take responsibility for sharing these
- Evaluate the effectiveness of communications campaigns to provide insights and recommendations for improvement
Skills and Experience
- Ability to multi-task priorities and handle different projects efficiently
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to communicate at all levels
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Able to develop strong media relations - in person & virtual
- Collaborative team player
- Sound organisational skills
- Flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach to work
- Ability to stay ‘cool’ when the pressure is on.
- Well organised and can manage own time against budgets
- Active in social media and interested in keeping up to date with trends in this area
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Education experience and passionate about working for excellence in education
- Experience in using web analytics
