THE CHALLENGE
At Eventbrite, our mission is to empower people through live experiences. Last year alone, our platform processed over 150 million tickets across over 3 million events organized by our creators. With so many choices of events to attend, it is essential that we provide our event creators with a way to promote their events to both new and existing attendees. 
 
Eventbrite is seeking a Software Engineer to assist our Marketing Tools team in developing a suite of tools to help our event creators promote their events successfully. In this role you will have the opportunity to interface with customers daily and build solutions that directly address their pain points.

THE TEAM
You will join a team that recently became part of Eventbrite via the acquisition of ToneDen, a marketing technology startup. Our technology helps creators inside and outside of Eventbrite promote their events and content via social media advertising.
 
Within Eventbrite we continue to operate like a startup – we are an empowered, close-knit team that loves to build quickly, interface directly with hundreds of thousands of active creators on our platform, and ship awesome tools that solves some of their most pressing marketing challenges. 
 
THE ROLE
We are seeking a creative problem solver and effective communicator to join the Marketing Automation team within Eventbrite. We're looking for a passionate junior engineer who is excited to both provide excellent support to our users and build features and tools with our growing team. This role is split between direct user support and development (both bug squashing and feature building).
 
You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from the senior engineers on the team, building your expertise while launching new offerings that will benefit millions of potential creators.
 
THE TECH STACK
The Marketing Tools team’s primary product –ToneDen’s marketing automation software– runs on a Node.js/Express backend, with React and Flux on the frontend. You will also have the opportunity to integrate with Eventbrite’s core systems and interfaces, which are built with Django on the backend, and React and Redux on the frontend. We are hosted entirely on AWS, with MySQL and PostgreSQL as the standard

THE SKILL SET

  • Have at least several months of intensive experience working with JavaScript and a strong desire to level up your skill set
  • Be comfortable and/or interested in working on a daily basis with React, PostgreSQL, Node, the Facebook Graph API and a variety of other tools & APIs
  • Know empathy and patience are strengths of yours and genuinely like chatting with and helping a wide variety of users every day
  • Efficient, clever, practical programmer with a passion for solving problems

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience running online ads, especially Facebook ads
  • Experience in technical support or other customer-facing roles
  • Active ToneDen or Eventbrite user with a passion for live events or music
