External Developer Support Associate

THE CHALLENGE
We want external developers to have a seamless and positive experience when developing on Eventbrite’s technology platform. That means we must have streamlined developer onboarding, fast and efficient support, comprehensive technical content, and data analysis tools to monitor developer feedback. We want to make sure that developers are able to easily access the information they need to build on our platform. External developers are a strong customer base that need an innovative and unique approach to support in order for us to find success on the Platform Team.

THE TEAM
You will be the foundational member of what we envision growing into a Customer Experience (CX) team dedicated to supporting 3rd party developers building on the Eventbrite technology platform. This role will help to support the strategic initiatives of Eventbrite’s platform business unit, which is focused on supporting Eventbrite’s business along with an expanding community of external developers and partners. You will work closely with the Platform product and engineering teams, along with cross functional team members in Knowledge and Product Marketing, to deliver an outstanding experience for external developers.

THE ROLE
You’ll be working with a wide array of customers in this role. You’ll be responsible for responding to inbound customer contacts and eventbrite-api forum questions. You’ll also help us scale this process by helping to refine and update developer documentation, training materials, and working with other customer-facing teams to educate and advise on low-level support issues. You’ll help our partners build apps and extensions for Eventbrite’s App Marketplace,, and also help our largest clients with api-related needs, offering them advanced support and advice, enabling them and their development teams to harness the power of Eventbrite’s APIs.

Cross-functional work will be key as you advocate for our api customers with our product, engineering, marketing, and customer-facing teams. You’ll make sure our releases roll out smoothly for developers by channeling feedback to and working closely with these teams. You’ll release changelogs and communicate about upcoming changes to existing api users and proactively utilize social media platforms for communication. Gauging sentiment, pinpointing issues, and processing feature requests will all be important tools for you in this cross-functional work.

  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Passion to learn and ability to mentor others.
  • A well-honed ability to prioritize, make trade-offs with a collaborative mindset and clearly communicate these decisions with various stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of common API patterns and development best practices.
  • Working knowledge of Python, Django/Flask and MySQL.

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience using the Eventbrite APIs (for an app, a custom report or any other use).
