Corporate Paralegal

THE CHALLENGE
Eventbrite’s Legal team is looking for an experienced Corporate Paralegal to own our global equity program and ensure that all equity transactions are processed and recorded accurately. You will serve as our functional expert in all matters related to stock administration, and will be charged with ensuring that all Eventbrite employees are well educated and informed about our equity program and processes.  We’re looking for a creative and knowledgeable expert to join us and partner with stakeholders in Payroll, Finance, Talent & Legal.

THE TEAM
The Eventbrite Legal team partners with all business units to develop strategies and solutions that satisfy legal requirements and drive business growth.  We provide counsel on matters including commercial contracts, licensing, IP, employment law, corporate governance, and equity plan administration.

THE ROLE
Eventbrite is seeking a collaborative and detail oriented Corporate Paralegal. You will provide general support to the legal team including equity plan administration, maintenance of corporate books and minutes, international entity maintenance, and help on a variety of legal projects. We’re looking for someone with excellent problem solving and communication skills who will be a proactive resource for plan participants at all levels of the organization.

YOU WILL

  • Administer Company’s global equity program, including maintaining accurate data in the equity system, managing participant transactions, preparing grant approval lists for the board of director approval, providing education and support to plan participants and staying up to date with laws related to international equity plans
  • Assist with the management of the company's subsidiaries
  • Support strategic transactions, including due diligence, document preparation, closing mechanics and post-closing integration and administration
  • Provide support to Eventbrite’s attorneys in a variety of legal, corporate, contract and intellectual property matters
  • Coordinate all aspects of contract management, including routing for signature, distribution, and development and maintenance of contracts database
  • Maintain corporate minute books and related records, as well as prepare meeting minutes from the Board and its committees.

THE SKILL SET

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 5 years experience as a paralegal in a law firm or a corporate legal department
  • 3+ years experience of increasing responsibility in Stock Plan Administration, preferably from in-house legal experience
  • Securities filing and compliance experience
  • Collaborative team player and have partnered with with internal and external contacts at all levels
  • Have the ability to work independently, shift focus, adapt to changing priorities, maintain patience in high pressure situations and take initiative where appropriate
  • E*TRADE’s Equity Edge Online experience
  • Experience in an IPO/public company environment highly desirable
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong work ethic and sense of professionalism and discretion, demonstrating accountability, integrity, and respect for confidentiality
  • Precision/detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Solid customer service focus and flexibility
  • Trustworthy, positive, energetic, optimistic attitude with a willingness to roll up your sleeves
