Workplace Specialist (Part Time)

Etsy is seeking a bright, dedicated, and friendly Workplace Specialist to join our Toronto office.  This role is part-time (3 days per week) and reports to the Workplace Manager for our North American offices. The Workplace Team is a global group with diverse backgrounds in building management, design and space planning, fabrication, operations, event planning, sustainability and food sourcing. As Workplace Specialist, you will balance the day-to-day operations of the Toronto office and have a hand in executing the programs, projects and events in out other coworking locations. You’ll be guided by our global Workplace strategy and use Etsy’s values and mission to drive decision-making.

In this role, you’ll play an essential part in maintaining the culture and environment of our spaces, acting as a resource for local managers, the global Workplace team and the larger Etsy community. As a Workplace Specialist, you will juggle simultaneous projects and be willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in to support the services, programs, and partner teams that make Etsy an amazing place to work. Of course, you’ll do all of this while remaining cool under pressure and conveying a cheerful, positive, and calming influence on our dynamic workplace.

This is a part-time role based in Toronto 

About The Role

  • Operating, organizing and maintaining the Toronto office
  • Establishing and executing systems and processes for office operations for Toronto, with programmatic oversight for our other global cowork locations
  • Building positive relationships with suppliers, building management, service providers, and vendors
  • Managing coworking offices’ operating budgets and making purchases guided by our values and mission
  • Organizing Eatsy, our twice-weekly catered lunch, and ensuring that offices are stocked with healthy and diverse snack and beverage options
  • Regular communication about day-to-day operations, Workplace policies, and events
  • Planning and executing events, meetings and hosting visitors to the Toronto office
  • Collaborating on space planning, office layout, and office expansions or moves as required
  • Providing on-site support for our AV/IT partner teams
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

  • You are a resourceful, enthusiastic and confident person who will help make our Toronto office a happy and productive place to work.
  • 3 years of project and/or office management experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A mind for organization, solid time management skills, and an ability to balance long term projects and daily tasks while managing frequent interruptions
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • The ability to be proactive and work autonomously, and also to collaborate with a team
  • A motivation to connect Etsy’s mission, values, and impact goals to the responsibilities of this role
  • A cheerful disposition and a sense of humor, plus an ability to remain calm under pressure and flexible in the face of changing priorities
  • Experience with Mac products and Google Suite
  • Ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies; not afraid to tackle the physical aspects of organizing and running an office
