RESPONSIBILITIES

TRADE's Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) Team, which falls under the Risk Management Department, monitors and mitigates counterparty credit risk for capital markets-related activities, primarily supporting ETRADE's Corporate and Bank Treasury functions. This is achieved through the assessment and formal reporting of counterparty creditworthiness along with ongoing monitoring of a counterparty's financial soundness aligning with ETRADE's Risk Appetite Statement. The CCR Team also supports ETRADE's Third Party Oversight function by reviewing the financial strength of its critical vendors. The right candidate for this role must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while being able to multi-task and collaborate with internal and external business partners

Complete initial and periodic written counterparty credit reviews via fundamental credit analysis, market updates, relevant industry news and research, and where appropriate, client due diligence

Provide recommendations to senior management based on the counterparty analysis performed

Conduct research on relevant industry and regulatory trends related to counterparty credit risk

Develop an understanding of how financial and capital markets transactions, including derivative and forward-settled transactions, generate counterparty credit exposure

Develop market and policy understanding with respect to mitigating counterparty credit risk

Develop and produce insightful and actionable reporting on overall counterparty risk in various portfolios

Monitor news and market indicators daily of assigned counterparties and conduct follow-up when appropriate

Collaborate with Third Party Oversight to complete initial and periodic vendor financial strength reviews

Complete ad hoc projects and reports as requested, such as portfolio trend analysis, report automation, and presentations to senior management in a timely manner

REQUIREMENTS

2+ years of relevant work experience

Risk-related experience in financial services or other regulated industries preferred

Experience in financial statement analysis required

Familiarity with financial products such as derivatives, repurchase agreements, securities lending and borrowing and other fixed income instruments along with the respective contracts for each

Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel

Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills

The ability to work independently and complete work in a timely manner
