Web Design and Development Internships


Apply your web development skills and creative eye to enhance Esri web-based technologies and build engaging user interfaces.


As Esri continues to enhance its web-based technologies, more opportunities for students with strong web and mobile design and development skills become available.


Depending on your areas of study and interest, you might work in Software Development, Software Products, Professional Services, Applications Development, the Applications Prototype Lab, or on the user experience team.


We seek students majoring in computer science, user experience design, human-computer interaction, visual communication design, digital media, or visualization. Skills we look for include HTML5, Java, JavaScript, Silverlight, UI creation, design, and application development.


This past summer, projects interns worked on included

  • Tested, wrote documentation, provided feedback, and generated blog content for the ArcGIS Online team
  • Created user experience workflow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes for MyEsri website
  • Created wildland fire control and water violation web and mobile demos for the Esri User Conference
