Senior Native App Developer - Field Apps

If you were here in the last few months, some of the things you would have done are:

  • Led the development effort on a feature project team to create new features for our apps that are fit for purpose.
  • Reviewed code of new functionality to existing native app to ensure it is fit for purpose.
  • Explored capabilities of machine learning and planned how we would make use of offline models to assist data collection in the field.
  • Participated in field testing of the apps you and your teammates created to experience first hand the features as would be used by customers

Responsibilities

  • Lead a feature project sub-team that is assigned to create new or enhance existing features in our apps
  • Develop market leading software for use in field mapping, data collection, sensor networks, street navigation, and much more
  • Design and develop focused native apps the meet the requirements of a broad range of users
  • Design responsive and intuitive user interfaces for mobile and desktop apps using cross platform app building technologies
  • Collaborate with other programmers and developers throughout the development process
  • Define user requirements; design and develop applications and APIs for devices and web based services
  • Solve and articulate complex problems with application design, development, and user experiences

Requirements

  • 5+ years' of commercial software development experience
  • Fluent in and passionate about C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, Python, SQL
  • A flare for user experience and interface design
  • Cross platform app development
  • Object oriented design skills
  • Understanding of algorithms and design patterns
  • Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Microsoft App Center
  • Ability to work closely with the team to build quality software in a constantly evolving environment
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to clearly articulate the reasons behind design decisions and code implementation, and to provide guidance to other developers you are working with
  • Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or related field
  • Existing work authorization for Australia

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with the following: C/C++, Java/Kotlin, Objective C, Swift, Blazor
  • Master's preferred
