Internships - Software Development and Engineering 2019

Overview

Put your programming skills to the test as you work alongside senior staff to design and develop the next generation of Esri's innovative software.

 

Responsibilities:

Depending on your areas of study and interest, you'll work on our desktop, web, mobile, server, 2D/3D visualization computer graphics, imagery, more!

 

This past summer, interns in Software Development worked on a wide range of challenging projects such as

  • Exploring machine learning driven GIS for aerial detection
  • Build utility geoprocessing server and portal functions for ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Develop and implement JavaScript web app with analytical functions within ArcGIS

Program Timeline

  • Applications Accepted: September 1–December 31, 2018 at 5:00 pm PST
  • Interviews: Students selected for phone interviews will be notified by email on a rolling basis November 2018–March 1, 2019
  • Internship: 12 weeks beginning late May or June

Requirements

  • We seek students who are majoring in computer science and are currently enrolled in a 4-year bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program at a university in the United States; undergrads must be in junior or senior standing
  • Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2019
  • Able to complete a 12-week internship beginning in May or June 2019
  • Knowledge in one or more of these areas: C++, C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, iOS, Android or Windows mobile technology; no GIS required!
