Designer I

Job Summary: The Designer I is an entry-level position responsible for routine & limited architectural assignments. Under supervision, this role creates schematic design, design development, and construction documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Modeling &Technical Design: Working from the design of others and utilizing building information modeling (BIM), creates architecture documents for healthcare and senior living buildings. Assists in the design process and technical design development.
  • Processing & Auditing: Process requests for information (RFI) and submittals. Audit Revit models.

  • Architectural Innovation & Design: The process of using multiple perspectives to design, and incorporate aesthetic qualities that significantly increase client satisfaction by turning independent thoughts into designs, drawings and models creating an outstanding solution for the client.
  • Client-Based Project Management: The process of planning, coordinating, and controlling of a project from consulting to completion. Client-based project management is aimed at meeting a client's requirements to produce a functionally and financially viable project.
  • Industry Knowledge: Up-to-date awareness and understanding of best practices, technologies, products/services, events, trends, and regulatory issues that have impact on the healthcare industry and senior living, as well as other related services offered by ERDMAN.
  • Resource Management & Planning: Planning, monitoring, and controlling projects through optimum use of talent, budget, time, and materials, including contributing to operational and tactical plans by following a systematic process of documenting objectives and decisions.

Education: Associate?s Degree in Architecture; Accredited degree preferred

Certifications and/or Licenses: Pursuit of architecture licensure preferred.

Relevant Experience & Training:

  • 1-3 years of architecture experience.
  • Ability to audit architectural models.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Revit.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a professional, creative, open office environment with business casual attire. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours. There are occasions where extra effort will be required to meet project deadlines. Great flexibility in schedule is both required of you and returned to you due to our many project deadlines.
  • Infrequent national travel required.
