About the Opportunity

Under general supervision, the Warehouse Specialist II provides mid-level support to overall operations in shipping and receiving, and will be responsible for efficiently processing incoming and outgoing shipments, inventory tracking, and supporting our commitment to exceed customer expectations for both internal and external clients.

Reports to Distribution Director, with day-to-day supervision and support from Warehouse Lead.

Essential Functions

  • Supports pre/mail clearance through various tasks, including (but not limited to): preverification, MCIS entry, strapping, presenting completed mail with statements, monitoring and maintaining daily mail schedule, and staging completed mail
  • Supports material handling processes by: providing necessary equipment/inventory to the production area, monitoring job tickets and sample boards, and monitoring daily production schedule
  • Adheres to policies and guidelines pertaining to confidentiality, security, safety, and professional conduct
  • Ensures proper and safe removal of all waste/recycle materials
  • Creates outbound shipping documents
  • Identifies and tracks inventory overs
  • Maintains clean and safe work area
  • Creates pulls for required inventory for all production
  • Unloads trucks to receive inbound shipments
  • Weighs and counts receiving inventory
  • Documents receiving load log
  • Schedules USPS dropship appointments
  • Processes daily expedited delivery manifest
  • Performs all or some of the following: physical outbound shipments, internal relocation requests, inventory pulls, inventory transfers, monthly FGI inventory, processing cycle counts, and pitching inventory
  • May assist distribution management in ensuring the safe and efficient operations in the distribution department
  • May communicate with production managers of daily priorities
  • May communicate/resolve mail clearance issues
  • May serve as team/shift lead for assigned staff
  • May negotiate freight costs and quotes
  • May coordinate daily outbound schedule
  • May perform dropship analysis

Knowledge & Skills

  • Able to follow directions and make decisions
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Able to maintain positive, professional demeanor at all times
  • Able to perform and understand basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Able to use a calculator to solve basic math equations
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, procedure manuals, simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Able to use hand held measuring devices and tools
  • Able to work effectively in a cross functional dynamic team environment
  • Able to work independently and/or with team oriented environment
  • Able to write simple correspondence
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience using warehouse computer applications
  • Must have mechanical aptitude
  • Work involves frequent sitting, standing, light lifting (up to 65 lbs)
  • Regularly required to move about the facility
  • Must have good vision and good hand-eye coordination

  • Support material handling through various tasks, including monitoring Job Tickets, Sample Boards, and monitoring Daily Production Schedule
  • POD follow-up
  • Process inventory transfers
  • Process monthly FGI inventory
  • Process cycle counts
  • Process daily expedited delivery manifest

Technical Requirements

  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, procedure manuals, simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Experience using warehouse computer applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving
  • 2 + years’ customer service experience

Experience

  • Requires 1-2 years of related experience

Education

  • High school or equivalent required
