Vice President General Manager


The Vice President, General Manager will lead the relationship with key accounts. The GM is responsible for maintaining and deepening current relationships with clients, finding new opportunities to grow business within accounts, managing the service delivery team for the account and managing the profit & loss of the account. Key performance indicators for this position include maintaining and improving customer satisfaction, growing top-line revenue, managing the client-level profitability of the account and effectively building and leading the client service and delivery team resources needed to deliver.

The General Manager will have deep digital agency / marketing technology experience. Knowledge of the technology and / or energy industry and the critical business issues facing these marketers is a nice to have. The GM will help clients create the vision and implementation strategies for comprehensive omni-channel and digital marketing programs.This individual is responsible for working with executives at the client organization to understand their strategic marketing direction, share best practices on digital and relationship marketing, generate and sell through new business aligned to the client’s goals, help the client build support for the new business initiatives and write/negotiate proposals, contracts and statements of work for the new business.

The General Manager will also build the matrixed team of client and service delivery staff, ensure profitable delivery of current and future work, and identify and recruit the resources needed to deliver.The GM will regularly interact with the strategy, analytic, technology, and marketing skill groups to create strategic alignment around client objectives and help position and interpret recommendations and findings for the client. Communicating progress to company executive management and client executive management, translating service delivery into tangible business value, and managing expectations both internally and with the client are critical.

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Strong client management track record with proven results.
  • Must be effective at leading large teams of internal and client staff in the delivery of data-driven strategy, and one or more of the following: digital marketing, database marketing, relationship marketing, and marketing technology solutions.
  • Staff management and financial P&L management are critical.

Communication and Presentation

  • Outstanding listening skills are necessary.
  • Persuasive, concise, clear verbal and written communicator.
  • Effective presenting to senior executives.
  • Ability to formulate and communicate recommendations.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 12-15+ years’ relevant client management experience.
  • Technical and / or energy industry and digital marketing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Adobe digital platforms and Sitecore a plus.
  • Measurable results in large account management and business development.
  • Familiarity with direct marketing strategy, analytics, and technology.
  • Proven problem solving skills.
  • Proven track record for managing and growing complex relationships.
