About the Opportunity

Epsilon, AdAge’s #1 Ranked U.S. Agency, is seeking a dynamic Director, Strategic Business Consulting with a background in management consulting and/or corporate marketing to work with Fortune 500 clients on strategic planning, experience design, and marketing transformation projects.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as an expert in Epsilon’s strategic planning process
  • Become a trusted strategic advisor to both the client and account teams
  • Lead the delivery of consulting projects employing established frameworks & methodologies
  • Facilitate a variety of client workshops, from crafting a client’s strategic vision to building a prioritized set of customer experiences
  • Translate complex marketing challenges into tangible opportunities for improvement
  • Provide an example of how to apply consulting skills, professionalism and authenticity to build and maintain a change initiative’s momentum
  • Define performance metrics and measurement schemes
  • May help define key business requirements for marketing systems
  • Lead market research efforts to support client projects as well as business pitches
  • Business planning and marketing transformation: may design marketing reports, including executive dashboards; evaluate existing marketing processes and make recommendations for changes
  • Create investment plans and business cases
  • Creating high-quality, compelling documents to communicate recommendations
  • Identifying opportunities for additional Epsilon services, participate in proposal development

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works day to day on client service engagements, typically with regular visits on client premises
  • Data-driven marketing strategy:
  • Guiding segmentation projects, engagement scoring, affinity scoring, predictive models and more
  • Developing profiles/personas of targeted consumers for marketing communications
  • Defining marketing communication platforms
  • Leading market research efforts to support client projects as well as business pitches
  • Bring best practices to clients in integrated marketing across social media, mobile, email, web, direct mail, and other channels
  • Business planning and marketing transformation:
  • Building business plans and strategies for new marketing strategies and/or market opportunities
  • Creating investment plans and business cases
  • Marketing communications planning:
  • Developing strategic marketing concepts
  • Determining most effective communications options (e.g., channels/tools)
  • Determining timing and cadence, and other characteristics of campaigns and programs
  • Creating marketing playbooks (go-to-market contact plans)
  • Creating test strategies
  • Defining performance metrics and measurement schemes
  • Designing program elements
  • Helping select execution partners
  • Creates high-quality, compelling documents to communicate findings and recommendations using MS PowerPoint and Word
  • Designs, creates and distributes reports using Excel and similar analytical tools
  • May help define key business requirements for marketing systems
  • Provides business-related input into the development and ongoing maintenance of the CRM/marketing systems used by clients
  • Identifies opportunities for additional Epsilon services
  • Participates in proposal development
  • Develops knowledge increasingly in a few industries and across marketing disciplines of strategy, planning and operations, as well as for different marketing objectives of acquisition, loyalty, and up-sell/cross-sell
  • Stays apprised of, and is able to apply knowledge of, all of Epsilon’s assets, tools and capabilities

Experience & Education

  • 8+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required and an MBA or master’s degree equivalent is preferred
  • Management consulting expertise preferred
  • First-hand experience in communications roadmap development and implementation
  • Multi-channel delivery platform experience
  • Management of loyalty and CRM programs across multiple communications channels
  • Expert-level software knowledge including Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
