Data Analyst, Lead


  • 7-10 years of relevant professional experience conducting digital analytics or working in another analytical field with a demonstrated passion for digital.
  • Ability to display data visually, creating powerful presentations which effectively demonstrate the value of analytic deliverables; proficiency with business visualization tools (e.g., interactive dashboard software)
  • Ability to program in newer and emerging languages such as R and Python; working knowledge of Hadoop and other big data technologies
  • Strong analytic and technical thought process and ability to interpret findings.
  • Strong Base SAS and SQL skills required: 5 years.
  • Strong experience leading analytic projects with the ability to interpret findings and convey results verbally and in writing.
  • Solid quantitative background including proficiency in problem solving, data analysis and modeling.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams including statistical, technical and marketing resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills a must.
  • Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Statistics, Economics or other quantitative discipline.
Job Functions
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to manage data logistics - including data specifications, transfers, structures, and rules
  • Provide proficient problem solving and data analysis, derived from programming and marketing/business experience.
  • Proficient with toolsets (SAS, SAS ODS, SAS Access, SQL, Unix, MS Office) and large datasets (some positions require proficiency in digital analytic tools including Google and/or Adobe Analytics and familiarity with digital data, in addition to or in lieu of SAS/SQL)
  • Document and articulate the steps taken in an analysis to internal stakeholders
  • Answer questions about data sets and analyses

  • Provide technical oversight of cross-functional resources and less-experienced peers
  • Prepare basic report content (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including writing covering methodology and findings
  • Participate in presentation of results to key internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating the key findings and recommendations
  • Limited exposure to the sales process by providing limited content to be included in RFPs, proposals, SOWs for new and existing business opportunities
  • Perform two tasks related to the role of Manager, Analytics during the year
  • Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Statistics, Economics or other quantitative discipline

  • Strong analytic thought process and ability to synthesize and interpret findings.

  • Experience with website tracking tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics / Site Catalyst is preferred.
  • Moderate experience with email delivery and reporting tools such as DREAMmail or ExactTaget is preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital media tools (Dart, Atlas) or social media analytics tools (Facebook Insights, Twitter, and Pinterest Analytics) is preferred.
  • Ability to organize and mine large sets of data for insights.
  • Team player with ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment; ability to work effectively with diverse teams including statistical, technical, creative and marketing resources.
  • Demonstrates an ability to think outside the box and take initiative upon themselves in order to solve problems as they arise.
