Area Sales Manager (Texas)

General Description:

An Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for overall revenue growth in his/her area of responsibility (AOR) which includes new business development and upgrades to existing client contracts; always meeting or exceeding personal sales objectives. This position requires exceptional customer service skills and a consultative approach to the sales process.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Objectives: The ASM will consistently meet or exceed sales plan goals by selling the Epsilon product portfolio to targeted clients and prospects: dealerships and dealership groups in the AOR. The ASM will conduct full needs assessments on behalf of dealerships and recommend solutions as appropriate while demonstrating extensive product knowledge.

Product Knowledge: The ASM shall be a subject matter expert on all offerings, continuously advancing his/her personal product knowledge of current and future Epsilon products through attendance at required meetings, webinars, training sessions, self-study, etc.

Documentation: Report daily on all client interactions with detailed, accurate entries in Salesforce.com. Record time spent hourly by OEM in TimeTrax.

Team work and communication: Work jointly with team members to maintain AOR. Communicate daily with associates to understand all objectives for all dealers by all team members.

Travel & Expenses: Adhere to all processes and requirements outlined in the Expense and Travel Policy document.

OEM Relationships: Establish and maintain professional relationships with local OEM field representatives within the given territory.

Feedback: Respond to management requests for information and follow up to support communication as required.

Representation: Represent Epsilon at appropriate trade shows, conventions and conferences as required.

Professionalism: Act in the best interest of the company by applying stated corporate values and priorities to all communications, decisions, and actions. Display a commitment to the goals of the department and the enterprise. Demonstrate loyalty to the company and co-workers.

Capabilities and Requirements:

  • Expert consultative selling techniques coupled with above average closing skills.
  • Above average organizational skills necessary to coordinate call schedules and travel requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
  • 5 years minimum experience selling any product to automotive dealerships or marketing products in general to comparable industries
  • 5 years minimum experience selling to Automotive Dealer/General Manager or other C-level management roles in comparable industries
  • Proficient in the basic Microsoft software products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Provide continuing evidence of valid and unrestricted Driver’s License and appropriate insurance to execute travel by automobile as required.
  • This position carries an expectation of a minimum 50% overnight travel
