DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team in Hungary, working mainly on software development projects. Remote work is supported.

As a Project Manager you will be accountable for the overall project delivery, client satisfaction and management of expectations to deliver the required strategy and business value. You will be working alongside globally renowned and award-winning design, software development and technology teams who are passionate about what they do and how they do it; you'll have the opportunity to play a key role building strong business and technology relationships, taking a 'hands on' approach to define and deliver, embodying and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Do

  • Manage projects through all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Perform scope control and change management
  • Take a proactive role in suggesting tools and approaches to support the overall success of a project
  • Establish long-term partnerships with the clients, interface frequently with them as their primary point of contact
  • Organize and maintain effective communication both internally within the project team and externally with project stakeholders and customers
  • Manage teams of engineers working on different projects, in different locations
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and development support to drive up delivery capability across the department
  • Constantly and carefully review performance to find possible gaps in processes, approaches, or inefficient usage of team capacity
  • Work with customers, vendors, internal client, project team members and stakeholders to define project scope, resource requirements, budget, timeline, deliverables, and milestones
  • Establish goals, schedule, and milestones; plan the delivery roadmap
  • Adjust plans to reflect reality, based on dependencies and constraints, to ensure transparency and trust
  • Monitor and track the project progress against project plan, gather information on team status and hold regular status meetings
  • Analyze metrics and KPIs on teams' and project level
  • Report delivery status to customers and EPAM management (health monitor)
  • Provide input for forecasts, engagement timesheets and invoicing information
  • Mitigate issues and risks proactively, address potential problems before they occur
  • Establish governance across multiple teams and ensure effective quality controls are built into the project
  • Ensure that mandatory project documents and knowledge bases are created and maintained during the project lifecycle
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications and participating in professional societies
  • Contribute to the EPAM PM community by sharing best practices and other relevant information with peers across teams
What You Have
  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in the field of Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent
  • Active advanced English knowledge (both verbal and written) - level B2+
  • 2+ years of hands-on project management experience in software development projects (Project, Delivery, or Team Leader/Manager position), leading projects potentially spanning multiple engineering teams
  • Understanding of project management concepts, practices, and processes
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile / Scrum / Kanban development methodologies
  • Ability to choose, adopt and tailor any delivery methodology
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of project stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership abilities and able to engage, inspire, and motivate people
  • A "can-do", self-motivated, flexible attitude, being able to work in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial work environment
Nice to have
  • Professional PM or other relevant Agile certification
  • Experience of initiating, leading, and participation in continuous improvement processes, based upon delivery and service metrics
  • Experience in building and leading offshore / dispersed development teams
