Senior Xamarin Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Xamarin Developer to join our 50-strong IT department based in Southampton. In this position, you will work as part of an agile cross-functional team to shape and build new features, make improvements, and fix bugs, to ensure output is maintainable, performant and secure.
We have been developing the mobile app in-house for the customer for three years and have built up to over one million monthly active users in the UK. In July, the app ranked number two on the App Store for Health and Fitness, second only to Fitbit.
Our objectives now are to make the app even more central to the member experience and a point of competitive differentiation for us as a business as we continue to grow both in the UK and internationally.

• Work as part of an Agile, autonomous, cross-functional team to refine and deliver creative solutions for our mobile app
• Perform code reviews of other engineers' work, ensure best practices and security procedures are followed and provide constructive feedback with a view to improving quality
• Configure and utilize build and deployment mechanisms to deploy changes through the different environments, including releasing to app stores
• Undertake some leadership responsibilities, team coordination, and mentor junior members of the team
• Communicate and collaborate well within the team, actively participate in stand-ups, regular team meetings and other Agile ceremonies
• Identify technical and process improvements, review with the team, and feed into prioritization

• Extensive experience building complex software (ideally in C# or another C based language)
• Proficiency in building mobile or desktop apps
• High competency in writing unit tests and utilizing CI/CD tools
• Experience with Xamarin or another XAML based tech, BDD with Specflow or similar
• Experience deploying apps to both the App and Play stores
• Expertise in Rest API design and creation
• Cloud computing and UI automation testing experience
• Understanding of IaC with Ansible or Terraform, App design principles
• Knowledge of writing white-label applications
