We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on a project with the world-famous multinational media company that provides data to professionals across the Legal, Tax, and News industries. You will be working in a team in charge of the migration of existing services from on-premises data centers to AWS Cloud of professionals with one of the most popular sites for searching lawyers in the world. The position allows designing and developing scalable, high available, distributed AWS deployments and making decisions on AWS instruments and services to use for deployments of migrated services.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop scalable, high available, distributed AWS deployments for services and deliver high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency
  • Make decisions which AWS instruments and services to use for deployments of migrated services
  • Create and configure cloud-native projects for migrated service
  • Use IaC (Infrastructure as a Code) approach for deploying CI/CD pipelines
  • Communicate on a daily basis with the customer (Delivery manager, Architects, Developers, DBAs) in English (B1+ spoken and written)
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
  • Actively participate in the whole development process, from initial design up to switching all extensive production traffic to a new environment
  • Work within a team of developers to complete proposed initiatives, contributing application architecture and implementation guidance
  • Collaborate with the customer (Delivery manager, Architects, Developers, QAs, DBAs) on English (B1+ spoken and written)
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks; Investigate performance and technical issues from production
  • Follow and contribute to agile development processes
  • Mentor less senior team members and advocate for quality coding and optimal processes
  • Solve complex problems by utilizing the right development methodologies, producing scalable, flexible, efficient and maintainable solutions using appropriate technologies
What You Have
  • 5+ years experience in Java
  • Solid expertise in Spring IoC/Dependency Injection, Maven
  • Extensive experience working with relational databases
  • Good understanding of microservice architecture
  • Sufficient communication skills to be a good team player
  • Open-minded, eager, and able to learn fast if needed
  • Good level of self-organization
  • Solid knowledge in core software engineering patterns and approaches
  • Experience in and willingness to work in an Agile (Scrum) environment
  • Good understanding of production environments and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Bash, Ansible, Linux will be a plus
  • Experience in configuring pipelines using Jenkins/GitLab is nice to have
