Position Summary

Looking for a highly experienced Games Creative Director to oversee Secret Location’s VR games and entertainment products. You have a background in and firm knowledge of the game production pipeline and a proven track record in shipping high quality games. You’re excited by the possibilities of Virtual Reality, and relish the opportunity to help pioneer and define the future of the medium.

Key Responsibilities

The Games Creative Director is responsible for…

 

  • Developing and maintaining an overall creative point of view for Secret Location’s VR games and entertainment products.
  • Anticipating, incubating, and pushing for the creative integration of emerging technology in the VR space.
  • Leading and mentoring teams in the creation of cutting edge and emerging content, with a specific focus in VR and AR.
  • Shape & mould the creative path, professional growth, and inspiration of the creative department.
  • Implement systematic thinking to continuously improve process, culture and collaboration.
  • Advocate for concepts that challenge conventions and encourage the organization’s movement and progress into the future.
  • Understand and be up to date on gaming, the VR marketplace & audiences.
  • Lead research and brainstorming of new concepts and pitch packages.
  • Ability to pitch new concepts with the goal to secure additional financing and / or promotional support, as well as, build relationships in the VR space.
  • Collaborate with the Production Director to manage the leadership of the Content Group.
    • Conducting check-ins, quarterly reviews and annual reviews.
  • Regular reporting to the Secret Location executive team and eOne executive team.
  • Contributing to the company’s long-term vision and business plan.
  • Ensuring strategy for each project aligns with the overall company vision and goals.

The Games Creative Director is responsible for…

 

  • Creating the game's vision, in collaboration with other members of the creative department.
  • Communicating and rallying the production team behind the vision for the project.
  • Integrating the vision and monitoring quality throughout the production schedule.
  • Ensuring goals within the project plan, including budget and revenue targets, are achieved.
  • Work with the Product Lead to ensure highest quality for the overall look and feel of the game, and collectively oversee any high-level decisions that affect how the game plays, looks or sounds.
  • Have a solid understanding of the bigger picture of game development, including the impact of their decisions with respect to financial outcomes.
  • Overseeing casting, records, motion capture shooting sessions.
  • Regular reporting to the Secret Location executive team and eOne executive team.

  • The health and wellness of all employees within the department.
  • All work content being produced having a consistently high standard.
  • Execution of the project plan including working within budget parameters and meeting revenue targets and expectations.
