Sr. Director of Channel Enablement

JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Director of Channel Enablement and Partnerships will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with channel partners, developing channel partner programs, and driving revenue growth through the Empyrean channel partner network. The Channel Leader will be a member of the Go-to-Market Leadership Team and represent the entire range of Empyrean products and services to assigned partners.

The Sr. Director of Channel Enablement & Partnerships will also collaborate with key Empyrean business Partners to lead Channel Enablement efforts that will deliver on the strategic priorities for brokers, consultants and carriers.    This role will have a specific focus on maximizing sales through our channel partners and improve business performance by leading sales readiness planning and channel communications strategy for new product launches, as well as related changes to existing products, policies, and programs. It will also support efforts to expand partner marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage a team of channel enablement professionals that supports Empyrean growth goals and channel relationship development through brokers, consultants and carriers
  • Understand Empyrean’s business priorities and sales channel structure, sales motions, comp levers, etc.
  • Partner with Regional Sales VP’s in prioritizing a coordinated channel relationship development and support.
  • Develop and own channel contracts, referral agreements and other key governing documents in support of channel relationships and sales growth.
  • Define channel communications strategy leveraging best practices and implement with Marketing to support consistent communications structure that delivers scale, resources, and drives efficiency.
  • Lead key internal launch activities for new product launches with channels.
  • Oversee planning and execution to enable successful product marketing with strategic partners, including joint better together product messaging and critical assets.
  • Leverage data and analytics to ensure effectiveness of sales enablement tools and communications.
  • Leverage data to improve the overall management of channels and establishing Empyrean growth goals.
  • Own and Oversee Empyrean’s Broker / Consultant Advisory Events.
  • Provide key insights on strategic decisions and input into developing the channel enablement budget.
  • Ensure pipeline growth of new sales and existing client upsells through channels, by setting set short- and long-term channel sales strategies with the team and channel partners and key KPI’s in achieving such goals tied to over-all annual revenue goals for the organization.
  • Play a key role in supporting your team or developing Executive and Sr. level relationships at key channel partnerships – ensuring field success.
  • Ensure the Channel Enablement Team develops a strong understanding of channel partners’ business models and priorities -including education and development based on these priorities with the Empyrean sales teams.
  • Ensure the Channel Enablement Team develops a strong understanding of Empyrean’s products, services, value propositions, and competitive positioning in order to develop and leverage channel partnership strategies.
  • Proactively lead a joint partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship for new growth and existing customers.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to proactively identify, define, structure, and lead complex projects end-to-end.
  • Proven ability to support multiple time-sensitive initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in developing, negotiating, and managing contracts.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office 365 apps, especially MS Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to travel up to 45%

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • BA degree in business, marketing, or communications or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of channel enablement, sales, strategic management, strategic communications, strategic marketing, customer segment marketing, partner marketing or similar experience
  • Previous team leadership experience strongly preferred.
