Human Resources Tech Analyst

Houston, TX

The primary focus of the Human Resources Tech Analyst is to support the HR team by being an administrator for the Human Resources Management System and online benefits administration tool. This position serves as a technical point-of-contact for Human Resources and assists subject matter experts with ensuring system updates, data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HR Tech Analyst also supports troubleshooting the HR systems and other technical projects as assigned. The Human Resources Tech Analyst works with internal and external teams to ensure accuracy and confidentiality regarding data and files. This position will report to the Benefits, Compensation and HRIS Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Map/Compass/Meridian
    • Manage ongoing file transmission and error reports.
    • Create reports in MAP and support Map Improvements/updates.
    • Responsible for data interfaces with other HR and benefits related applications
  • Dayforce
    • Manage dataflow to and from other HR applications.
    • Works with HRIS vendor to support and create/update contribution files.
    • Provide administrative support for HRIS system.
    • Generates and distributes ad hoc Reports, HR Reports, Ops Report and monthly Finance Reports
    • Explore unused tool functionalities (like surveys and dashboards)
  • Annual Enrollment
    • Serve as Empyrean’s technical point of contact during AE and around the year.
    • Work with internal carrier team and vendors for Annual Enrollment file requirements
    • Configure new benefits and update configuration for existing employees.
    • Responsible for getting benefits system ready for Empyrean AE. Proactively takes initiative to test the system for upcoming Annual Enrollment, payroll, and carrier files.
    • Timely process file errors
    • Manage Payroll file updates.
    • Assist with payroll calendar setup.
    • Process CMS and resource updates.
    • Manage AE data and analytics, manage AE closing and background jobs.
    • Set up files for the carriers and schedule automated jobs.
    • Create and Track JIRA tickets.
    • Ability to handle dual year requirements from carriers
    • Manage ongoing/AE/Dual year processing files, manage ongoing data checks.
    • Work with CDB team for setting up COBRA plans.
    • Assist with Annual Virtual Benefit Fair

 REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • SQL – intermediate
  • Expert/Advanced level in Microsoft Excel, especially with V-Lookup and Pivot Tables
  • MS Office – Intermediate
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient with Empyrean systems – MAP, Compass, Meridian
  • Ability to work on confidential projects and exercise high level of integrity with employee data.

 KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or years of experience will be considered in lieu of.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR or HRIS preferred.
  • Experienced at least 2 AE’s with Empyrean Benefit Solutions or similar company preferred
