Director, Architecture

This role will work in a fast-paced environment across the eMoney technology portfolio on emerging products and platforms! Reporting to the CIO, you will drive company-wide architectural initiatives.  You will work cross-functionally, leading a team of Architects and collaborating with a variety of roles assisting with cross-company system architecture, setting technology vision and strategy, defining technology standards, and governing compliance to the strategy and standards.  You will work with Development and Product Management to prioritize an architecture roadmap and will guide agile teams through execution on the roadmap.  This role will require a breadth of technology skills, leadership skills and soft skills to influence, lead and set the strategic direction.

 

Job Responsibilties

  • Architecting and developing web, software & mobile apps, prototypes and proofs of concepts
  • Driving and influencing cross-functional technology solutions in a highly collaborative environment
  • Acting as the technical leader and subject matter expert: Mentoring architects & engineers, employing technical expertise in driving decisions, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and technology design problems
  • Partner with Production Operations, Application Development, QA, and Product Management on improving the Release process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Set strategic architecture direction for eMoneyAdvisor initiatives.  Define processes, patterns, and practices for implementing strategic directions in support of business objectives
  • Review existing processes and ensure alignment to architecture strategies, roadmaps and standards
  • Work with application development teams to define, design and implement the solution architecture, with the responsibility of cross project technology and architecture vision
  • Plans, evangelizes, and leads organization-wide technology initiatives with team of Architects
  • Accountable for organization-wide technology standards decisions and compliance
  • Partners with Architects and Tech Leads to define standards and align solutions to set architecture strategies and standards
  • Informs organization on emerging and maturing technologies that may provide business opportunities
  • Collaborates with Development and Product Management leaders in refining and prioritizing a shared roadmap
  • Continually works to strengthen all team members in technical expertise, in ability to collaborate and influence, and in personal and career growth

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing teams of high performing application architects
  • 8-10+ years of software development experience including
  • Experience designing, evangelizing, and scaling large scale, enterprise class web applications and systems
  • Experience writing technical white papers and working with teams to drive reference implementation to production quality code
  • Experience designing REST/SOAP web services using .NET/XML/JSON
  • Experience with strongly typed OOP languages, primarily C#
  • Experience with interpreted loosely typed languages, primarily Javascript
  • Experience with frontend frameworks that support client-side/server-side MVC/MVVM
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture, micro service, scale-out web application design principles
  • Experience with Information and Storage management solutions
  • Experience with big data analytics and predictive analytics technologies
  • Experience in Agile and SCRUM
  • Experience with TDD, CI/CD and Automation
  • Familiar with full stack web development
  • implementation of enterprise solutions in a .Net environment
  • Knowledge of Windows environments is required

 

Skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to establish technical leadership in highly volatile environments for mission & revenue critical customer facing applications
  • Some Experience with Cloud technologies, security and integration techniques
  • Possess outstanding OOAD skills with demonstrated ability to influence and lead design decisions
