Web Architect

As Web Architect you will spear head the effort of setting up the architecture to support our new web initiatives. We are moving away from a traditional setup based around an Enterprise CMS and moving to a decentralized architecture based on Node.js, a headless CMS and well-defined services for pricing, checkout etc. You will work across multiple Agile development teams in Zurich and also interact with other development teams around the world (limited travel). The work will be a combination of high level architecture, building Proof-of-concepts as well as working hands on with development teams to kickstart projects and coach team members.

This role is not for the faint hearted. You will be one of the first people to join a new team and there will be many moving parts. In addition to changing the tech stack ground up we will also be re-inventing the way we work: adopting Agile methodologies, setting up Continuous Integration, new Cloud infrastructure etc.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in a comparable role, experience working with large websites, a passion for elegant technology and design and the ability to think and reason about abstract concepts while at the same time being a master coder. We expect you to have experience from multiple system launches in the past and be confident in making technology choices. You need to have excellent visualization and communication skills to explain and argue for your ideas. Expertise in Object Oriented programming, Javascript/Node environments, NOSQL databases, search, SEO and web performance is a must.
