EF International Language Campus, London, is seeking highly motivated and professional Summer Residence Assistants to live within our student accommodation and become an integral part of the daily lives of our students’ living. The position would ideally suit a postgraduate student looking to subsidise living costs whilst providing resident assistant duties.

Reporting to the Accommodation Manager you will assist in the day to day running of the residence, liaising with school administration teams and assisting the onsite residence management, cleaning and maintenance teams in accordance with EF policy, British Council and ISI criteria.

Based at one of our Central London residences, you will ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction through seamless arrival and departures, excellent customer service and quarantine management.

Your working hours may vary and will be on a rota basis.  You will be required to check in new customers on a Sunday or any other days and be on call for the remainder of the week. The Residence Assistants will be provided with accommodation and will be required to work some hours in return for this accommodation, this is called the Accommodation Offset. You may be required to work additional hours as directed by your manager. Any additional hours (outside the accommodation offset agreement) will be paid per hour.

Your duties will include (but not limited to) working directly with the customers and staff onsite:

  • Check that rooms are clean and available for arriving students
  • Meet & greet new students on arrival
  • Conduct curfew checks and keep accurate records
  • Prepare registration documents for new students
  • Inform arriving students about rules and fines (community standards)
  • Assist with checking in & taking students to rooms
  • Remind departing students of leaving date & procedures
  • Regularly check rooms to ensure facilities are in good condition & being well maintained
  • Ensure that residence rules are being adhered to and reporting all issues to Manager
  • Liaise with staff responsible about any issues or problems
  • Ensure that when on call, emergency phone is answered at all times
  • Organise and partake in monthly activities
  • Report all maintenance issues to the relevant on-site staff, to maintain a log of maintenance issues and to ensure that all issues are addressed in a reasonable time frame.
