EF Education First is seeking an experienced and passionate QA Software Engineer to join our Classroom Technology Experience team in our London Office. It will be your and the team’s responsibility to design, perfect and launch EF Class to English teachers in public and private high schools around the world through a highly viral model creating user value for teachers, students and schools all along the way.


EF Class

EF Class is a complete set of flexible learning materials and tools to help teachers run motivational, engaging and interactive English lessons. Teachers can choose to use lessons and activities authored by EF, but can also modify and create their own; adapting them to meet class group and student needs. EF Class combines the best of learning in a traditional classroom setting with digital learning, with the goal of engaging every single student in each classroom.

EF Class was launched in 2015 and since then has grown to over 800 schools. Your challenge is to make the product go viral all over Europe. You will report into the Product President.

You will be working in an international team with cross functional skills covering academics, design, engineering, testing, business development, etc. The team adopts modern best practices including a Scrum-based agile development approach and you will be based in our spacious EF London office just off Kings Road in Chelsea.


The Expertise

The QA Software Engineer plays a role in ensuring we deliver software products to the highest quality, standards and user experience. The team is implementing a strong test driven development culture, with the QA function at the heart of it. You will be accountable for the QA and testing of features in line with the testing plan for each Sprint and each Release. You will be an integral part of one of the product-based Sprint teams who are accountable for product delivery: technical design, build, QA and release.

We would love to see the following:

  • 4+ years testing experience with good understanding of successful testing in an Agile (SCRUM) environment.
  • Strong mobile and Web testing skills.
  • Proven experience using BDD best practices and “Cucumber” framework.
  • Familiar with the SQA requirements and demands of a full product cycle.
  • Proven bug detection and bug isolation skills.
  • Proven experience reporting defects and verifying bug fixes.
  • Strong hands on experience with QA methodologies, or prior QA experience.
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Comfortable and adaptable in a high-paced and informal environment.
  • Experience on cross browser testing

Our testing tools are mostly built using:

  • Ruby, JavaScript, Scala
  • BDD/Cucumber
  • Watir/Selenium 3.0
  • Page Object pattern

 
Responsibilities

  • Follow the Agile Development Methodology by completing the QA tasks for the User Stories for each Sprint in a timely manner.
  • Participate in all aspects of product testing:
    • Installation
    • Functional
    • Regression
    • Integration
    • Performance
    • Connectivity/infrastructure
    • API
    • End-to-End
    • Test automation library and framework
    • Automated end-to-end tests for our Web platform
    • Testing Reports
    • Continuous integration
