About Cultural Care:

We help young adults from around the world make the impressive commitment to spend a year living away from family and friends to live with an American host family. Cultural Care Au Pair is a designated program sponsor under the U.S. Department of State’s federally regulated au pair program. We provide support and program management during this exchange year. Cultural Care has recently celebrated 25 years of bringing families and au pairs together. We are a worldwide organization based in more than 20 countries. About the role:

We are seeking a .NET developer responsible for developing and maintaining .NET applications using C#, VB.Net MS SQL with stored procedure and functions. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these layers of our applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential. 3 to 5 years experience.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable codeEnsure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applicationsIdentify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issuesHelp maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

 

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of .NET web framework {you may specify particular versions based on your requirements}
  • Proficient in C# and/or VB.NET, with a good knowledge of their ecosystems
  • Familiarity with the Entity framework
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Skill for writing reusable libraries
  • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with popular web application frameworks (jQuery, Knockout, Angular)
  • Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code
  • Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests a plus
  • Proficient understanding of GIT and BitBucket


Some nitty gritty:

Sometimes, extra hours are required. Sometimes we celebrate hitting goals and honoring overseas visitors with evening dinners and events. We also have opportunities to dress up like superheroes and Yule Ball characters, and attend Disco-themed parties. If you have a problem with this, you should think twice before applying.
