International Exchange Compliance Manager

EF Exchange Year is seeking an outgoing and motivated individual with a passion for international understanding and cultural exchange. As part of our team you will play an integral role in enhancing our program quality to deliver the experience of a lifetime to our students and host families.
EF Exchange Year coordinates the placement of international high school exchange students from around the world with volunteer American host families. In this role, you will work directly with our nationwide network of International Exchange Coordinators (IECs) to ensure that all required host family and school paperwork is submitted and processed in order to finalize student placements. In addition, you will monitor multiple aspects of program operations in order to verify that program rules and government regulations are closely followed.
You will oversee a region of local coordinators and be responsible for resolving any issues regarding program quality and compliance. As a member of this dedicated and hardworking team this individual must be deadline-driven with the ability to motivate field staff to hit very challenging goals. In addition, the successful candidate must also possess confidence, diplomacy and discretion when reviewing and communicating information about applicants with other members of the EF Exchange Year team. You will be charged with training and guiding local field staff as they screen and select potential host families and will also work directly with prospective applicants who have expressed an interest in hosting an international exchange student. A passion for customer service and strong professional phone demeanor is incredibly important as you help on-board new families to our program and move them through the application process. You will also determine final affiliate suitability and acceptance while at the same time ensuring that host families and local coordinators remain well-supported and excited about their upcoming experience.
The position is operations-oriented and requires the ability to change priorities quickly and multi-task. We are looking for candidates who are committed to excellence in their daily work and able to manage a high volume of information while remaining productive in a fast-paced work environment. In addition, a focus on customer relations and quality results is a must. Your decisiveness and good sense of judgment along with your organization, attention to detail and communication skills will be imperative to your success in this position. You will work with a wide range of audiences and thus your approachability and demonstrated ability to thrive in a cross-cultural and team environment is critical.
This position’s peak season is over the summer. During that time, staff vacation is not permitted and extended weekday hours may be necessary. - Bachelor’s Degree
- Self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong sense of organization and attention to detail
- Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
