Full Stack Software Engineer

Based in the Heart of Chelsea, the Classroom Technology Experience team (CTX) is looking for an experienced, hands-on and results-driven Engineer. Your primary responsibility is to design, develop and deliver new features for EF Class across our AWS based platform and web client applications.  The goal is to provide massively scalable, secure and micro service oriented services for teachers and students of EF Class.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • You will be working within a cross functional team following a DevOps culture
  • You will implement new features using RESTful APIs and GraphQL 
  • You will be responsible for working with AWS based services and technologies to achieve high availability, scale and resilience
  • You care about quality and know what it means to deliver high quality code using good engineering practices like BDD/TDD
  • You will investigate, evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies and approaches
Examples of projects you will be working on:
  • EF Class - a public school classroom application, see class.ef.com
  • Intelligent teacher/student services using ML/AI
  • SPA frontend development based on Angular and Typescript 
  • Backend services running on AWS 
Key Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years experience with Javascript/Node js, Java, Python
  • Experience with front end libraries such as React, Angular
  • Experience with bringing ideas fully to market
  • Good understanding of REST and asynchronous event driven programming
  • Experience in building distributed systems and NoSQL solutions
  • Experience in working with AWS Services, Tools
  • Experience in working in a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery workflow
  • Experience leading teams of engineers a plus
  • Machine learning experience a plus, but not essential
