Financial Process Automation Technician – EF Financial Systems
EF Education First is a global leader in international education, with a 50-year mission of opening the world through language learning, educational travel, cultural exchange, and academic study.
The EF Financial Systems team is a centralized function responsible for systems used by finance teams globally. We design, implement, maintain systems but we also train and support the users on how to use the systems. We are working with systems such as Coda Unit4 Financials, the group consolidation system Aaro, the enterprise planning software IBM Cognos TM1, Kofax, Basware, SharePoint, Excel, Access and other standard Microsoft products.
In the summer of 2017, EF’s central Finance team has moved from Stockholm to EF’s European headquarter in Zurich. As a part of the move we are looking to modernize our finance platforms and focus more on process automation. To support this shift we will need to increase our technical capabilities in the Financial Systems team. We need an IT generalist with competence in scripting languages, API integrations and databases. Our financial systems are hosted in a Microsoft oriented environment with Windows Servers, MS SQL databases surrounded by Sharepoint and Office365. Current automations are mainly implemented in MS SQL SSIS in the case of integrations and process automation between applications. Automations within applications are mainly dependent on scripting possibilities and adaptations within those applications.
We believe that you have a background as a systems administrator or database administrator and that you wish to work more project oriented and to focus on changing and improving systems and processes. Since the financial systems team consists mostly of people with a finance or systems background, your technical role will be central and important. You will be interacting with business users as well as with infrastructure engineers in EF’s Global IT department and technical support people from vendors. You need to have an inner drive to deliver but also the social skills to get the most out of your interactions with people you depend on.
Qualifications and experience:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or similar
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft tools such as Windows Server, Active Directory, MS SQL Server and Microsoft BI stack
- Database knowledge and experience is a huge plus
- Experience in SSIS, Powershell scripting or similar would be very useful
- Attention to detail and a high level of comfort with a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem solving ability with the desire to take ownership of issues and follow through until resolution
We would like to see your application and resume before Nov 1st, 2017. But please apply as soon as possible as we are continuously screening candidates.
