CTO – Marketing Tech and Sales Funnel – EF English Live

CTO for Marketing Tech and Sales Funnel; newly created role to own the full sales and marketing technology funnel for the world’s leading online English-language learning business.

Exciting opportunity to join the leadership team of the world’s largest English-language learning business and deliver real business impact. We are looking for a CTO – Marketing Tech, reporting to the CEO, to take the lead in defining what and how we build, optimise and manage the best digital marketing and sales acquisition funnel in the world. This role will encompass four key areas, each with a dedicated team reporting in to him/her:

  • Defining and building our full web-tech stack (marketing websites, sales pages, landing pages, lead capture etc)
  • Defining and building our next generation of marketing tools and tech (Marketing Cloud, lead nurturing, inbound and out bound chat – inc WhatsApp and other platforms)
  • Optimising and re-tooling our sales processes including upskilling our approach to online and mobile sales and optimising call centre sales platforms (salesforce, diallers, chatbots, collection bots etc)
  • Defining our core customer journey sales-and-marketing analytics – full end-to end view on conversion metrics and marketing attribution.

Note – this person doesn’t have any marketing budget, but provides the best tools, platforms, tech and optimisation insights to the local teams who decide how much they spend and where they spend it.

The ideal candidate is likely to have worked within a leading AdTech company, building product.

The team in London – where this role is based - is a young, dynamic and international group of about 50 people.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 6-years plus in digital sales and marketing technology – building platform and optimisations. Likely to have spent a significant amount of time in a leading AdTech company.
  • Demonstrable experience of designing and implementing complete end-to-end customer journeys, including deep understanding of tracking an attribution models.
  • Strong understanding of marketing technology and analytics platforms, including PPC ad-buying and optimisation platforms, social media marketing platforms, mobile channels (e.g. chat, whatsapp), email delivery platforms, GA360 etc.
  • Understanding of Salesforce/Marketing Cloud capabilities and landscape would be highly beneficial
  • Understanding of online payments and commerce landscape would be beneficial.
  • Proven ability to go beyond the description of a strategy and execute on projects – a ‘roll-you-sleeves-up’ attitude.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills including multinational experience.
