The Role

As Area Manager you will join the Operations team of Go Ahead Tours. Your main responsibility will be the coordination of land travel arrangements of our US and Canadian Tours. Other responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Negotiating contracts and securing bookings with hotels, restaurants, transportation companies and tourist attractions
  • Prospecting and identifying new business partners within your region
  • Budget-setting and budget accountability at the end of the fiscal year
  • Product development: This includes designing new tours and improving existing itineraries
  • Quality and safety control
  • Travel in the US and Canada and to the Operations Headquarter in Luzern (Switzerland)

Requirements (All Candidates)

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong organizational and negotiation skills and attention to detail
  • Quick learner and a proven problem solver
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Able to analyze and question processes and always come up with creative ways of improving them
  • Highly sociable and energetic, positive
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing budgets and negotiating
  • 1-2 years professional experience in travel industry, including extensive travel experience
