Academic Programme Manager

Become part of a team responsible for the creation of innovative new courses for teens and young learners and enjoy the opportunity to participate in all stages of the development and production process from shaping the concept and creating materials, through to final implementation across all E1 regions.


The Role
The Academic Programme Manager is responsible for being the academic/pedagogical interface between EF Kids and Teens Product Development and key stakeholders. The Academic Programme Manager will work closely with the Publishing Director, Academic Content Manager and Assessment Manager to ensure that all produced learning materials are created to the requirements of stakeholders and that all stakeholders are updated about academic product features and approaches. The Academic Programme Manager will maintain and develop the EF Kids and Teens academic product portfolio.

Short-term Focus:

  • Work with the Publishing Director to refine the processes for ensuring that academic content produced by EF Kids and Teens meets stakeholder requirements and expectations, and sharing academic features and approaches with stakeholders.
  • Liaise with stakeholding teams in order to: gain insights and requirements from markets before developing new products; achieve sign-off on academic approach and principles before content production begins; produce product briefs for learning content.
  • Identify academic product training needs and ensure that training is delivered.

Long-term Focus:

  • Develop, maintain and share broad and up-to-date professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; identifying and participating in events, conferences and societies related to content writing and English language learning.
  • Contribute to setting and achievement of strategic goals in academic content production, as it relates to operations, course content development and business development.
  • Identify gaps in academic product portfolio and propose solutions.
  • Develop and manage EF Kids and Teens Curriculum.

Requirements:
  • Diploma-level ELT qualification (e.g. Cambridge DELTA, Trinity DipTESOL) or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or Linguistics.
  • Classroom experience with early, young and teen learners.
  • 3+ years’ experience in children’s’ ELT school/teacher management.
  • Outstanding familiarity with standard references for the development of syllabuses, for example, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and other Council of Europe publications.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, energy and team spirit.
  • Strong digital skills and the ability to work well in a technological environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Project or process management experience.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to work well in cross-cultural, multinational teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of clarity in written English.
  • Mastery of English (CEFR C2 level).
  • Experience in publishing or test development is desirable.
