The Strategy, Products, and Analytics team (nicknamed “SPA”) is responsible for developing and growing a portfolio of programs and products to connect EP talent with our education organization Partners. The SPA team asks big strategic questions about EP’s program model and ensures that EP takes the necessary steps to innovate and execute.

Position Description

Education Pioneers is seeking a talented, strategic-thinker with strong analytic and communication skills to serve as a full-time Manager of Data and Analytics on the Strategy, Product and Analytics (SPA) Team. The Manager, Data and Analytics will work to collect and analyze both internal programmatic data and external market data to enable Education Pioneers to deeply understand the needs of our current and future users (partner organizations and talent) and design offerings that effectively meet these needs. S/he will drive analyses of Education Pioneers’ talent pipelines and Partner organizations to identify patterns among those groups and changes over time. Additionally, s/he will develop, implement, and analyze the results of process and program evaluations to assess the effectiveness and impact of the Fellowship and uncover opportunities for improvement.

The Manager, Data and Analytics will be seated in the Boston or New York office and will engage with EP team members across the country. This is a full-time, exempt position, which reports to the Senior Director of Strategy, Product, and Analytics.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 3-5 years of full-time professional experience in a highly analytic role

  • Expert level using technology and data, including Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce

  • Strong data analysis skills; ability to define key questions, structure and conduct analyses, and identify insights to inform efficient decision-making

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively communicate analyses and implications to a wide range of audiences

  • Experience working with large and complex data sets from multiple sources

  • Prior experience conducting data analysis to drive business decision-making and solve business problems

  • Experience designing and managing data systems

  • A high level of professionalism and customer service orientation

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail; ability to set and consistently meet project milestones and deadlines through disciplined prioritization and efficient work habits

  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization; ability to build alignment and facilitate decisions across teams

  • Ability to manage up and across; track record of holding others accountable for completing deliverables, meeting deadlines, and achieving results, even without formal authority

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Data Collection & Analysis (50%)

  • Collect meaningful qualitative and quantitative data, conduct analyses, and make recommendations to inform improvements to EP’s fellowship offerings and decisions related to fellowship recruitment, admissions, placement, partner sales, and programming; examples include:

  • Managing design, implementation, and analysis of fellow and partner surveys to gather feedback on participants’ EP experience

  • Collecting and analyzing data from partners who do not hire fellows and candidates who do not accept offers to identify opportunities to strengthen the fellowship offering

  • Analyzing EP data on candidate and partner salary expectations and market data on salary trends across industries to develop a compelling and competitive fellowship salary structure

  • Define and drive clear and effective decision-making processes to align team members on recommendations and empower key stakeholders to buy into decisions regarding product strategy

Market Research (30%)
* Conduct external market research and needs analysis to identify gaps in our product portfolio and opportunities to adapt existing product offerings and pilot new product offerings; examples include:

  • Gathering and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data on graduate student hiring trends to identify opportunities to more effectively attract graduate student talent

  • Assessing education organizations’ professional development needs against the professional development programs and services currently available within the sector to identify opportunities for EP to design new offerings

Data Processes and Systems Management (20%)

  • Partner with leaders of Strategy, Product, and Analytics team to develop and implement a process to use data and research to drive product refinement decisions, including:

  • Documenting hypotheses and data / research to support product decisions

  • Conducting targeted research and analyses to test product hypothesis and evaluate the effectiveness of product changes

  • Conduct ongoing maintenance of existing data systems (i.e. Salesforce, Pardot, Excel) and recommend new ways to track data and new tools to use to create efficiencies in reporting and data collection, including survey tools such as Qualtrics

  • Develop and manage analytic tools to enable team members across the organization to easily access priority data and reports

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with experience, and includes full benefit coverage

Range: 45K - 55K
