About the role
We’re looking for someone with a passion for leveraging technology to shape the future of education. You'll develop and maintain ETL jobs using tools like Redshift, Airflow, and Python. Part of your role is to ensure data quality and reliability for our customer-facing premium data product. You can expect to work with the entire pipeline from collecting log files and extracting from relational databases to processing in Redshift and then loading final data into relational and non-relational data stores. A detailed understanding of the Redshift ecosystem and MySQL means you can debug production systems and maintain and expand our analytics cluster. You're a practical, results-focused self-starter who will work to understand and anticipate data needs within Edmodo.
Build and maintain infrastructure for the complete data lifecycle from capture to insight
Develop and maintain our core ETL
Supply data consumers with tools and frameworks to build dynamic data pipelines, reports, and visualizations
Own order, data quality, and performance in the cluster and ETL processes
2+ years of relevant experience
Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
Experience with SQL, data warehousing, and schema design
Knowledge of Python, or a strong desire to learn
Strong Linux skills including shell scripting and basic system administration
Experience with AWS systems such as EC2, S3, and Redshift
Experience with Airflow
Docker Knowledge a plus
