Ebates is looking for a technical product manager with a nose for driving business results. You are an engineer by training who now works in product management, are willing to dig into the technical details of your products and you don't accept hand-waving explanations or conventional wisdom as reasons not to innovate.

You will help define user interfaces and business models for our efforts and be the product-level contact for external publishers. On a day-to-day basis you will primarily spend time working internally with engineers and product managers at our demand customers (e.g., search marketing, email marketing, Ebates and Rakuten sister properties) on USC implementations to create mock ups, select products to merchandise with new initiatives, etc. You will likely also work with external partners and merchants.
You will work with our overall product lead for USC and our engineering, design, legal, finance and customer support teams to triage acute issues as well as define priorities, the product roadmap, key performance indicators and internal processes that result in delightful customer experiences.
Facilitate discussions with internal and external customers using our APIs and tools.
Demo product/platform integrations to potential new customers.
Write clear, well defined user stories for our engineering teams that build short and long term features.
Advocate for prioritization that moves your initiatives forward.
Build mockups of user interfaces using Omnigraffle, Visio, Photoshop, etc.
Work with engineering to create proof of concept implementations.
Develop documentation for 3rd parties using our apis.
Develop, monitor and maintain metrics for measuring success. Drive a data-informed culture that promotes "test and verify."
Collaborate with your supply-side counterpart to develop an integrated set of focused priorities based on feedback from customers.
Your experience & qualifications:
Engineering degree (or equivalent).
Previous experience as a product manager on user-facing web products, ideally with an ecommerce company.
Design savvy and able to work with tools to create interface mockups that sell and explain your vision.
Deep understanding of web technology with examples in product and engineering.
Relentless focus on quality and data-informed decisions.
Understand how to work effectively across channels and across borders.
Cheerfully persistent and persuasive, results-oriented team leader.
- Highly entrepreneurial yet able to work up and down our organization to develop scalable solutions.
