Eaton's Electrical Sector - Power Distribution & Control Assemblies Division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Technician based onsite at our Arden, NC manufacturing facility. The primary focus of this role will be providing support to the plant quality management system through APQP and problem-solving activities.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you'll do:
- Lead, support, and carry out processes and tasks to assure and improve supplier quality performance aligned to Eaton and site objectives.
- Report and monitor supplier quality performance through WISPER (DPPM / DMR / PPAP / 3rd Party certification). Responsibilities include suppliers of: production parts and material, externally provided processes and services.
- Manage the Defective Material Report process (DMR).
- Support APQP / Safe Launch activities. (Supplier APQP /PPAP, definition of incoming inspection plans, performance monitoring, etc.)
- Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB). Drive timely and effective resolution of supplier caused nonconforming material on hold.
- Support Supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and provide final disposition, including reviewing and actioning PPAP submissions and supporting suppliers in their effort to gain approval.
- Communicate Eaton products and process quality requirements to the supply base.
- Support advanced product quality planning (APQP) and production part approval process (PPAP), partnering with Eaton support teams.
- Responsible for non-conforming supplied component returns and communication with suppliers, including requesting, reviewing, and approving supplier CAPA's 8-D's, 5-Why's, corrective actions, etc.
- Support the Warranty and Operation Quality teams in their daily tasks.
Qualifications:
Basic (required) Qualifications:
- Associates degree from an accredited institution and one (1) year manufacturing quality experience, or high school diploma and three (3) years of relevant manufacturing quality experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, technical specs, fluent with dimensioning & tolerancing.
- Demonstrated experience with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes, Design and Process FMEAs (failure modes and effects analyses), and SPC (statistical process control & capability).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics).
- Six Sigma knowledge/experience - Experience with Continuous Improvement tools & methods.
- Knowledge of Switchgear products and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated experience with ISO-9001, TS-16949, or similar QMS standards.
- Experience with 8D structured team problem solving.
