Finishing Cell Machining - 2nd Shift

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Finishing Cell Machining - 2nd Shift.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.75 per hour. The hours for this shift are 3:30 pm - 12:00 am.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Read and understand work instructions.
• Perform visual and physical inspection of functional measuring equipment characteristics on component parts.
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) know how to detect an out-of-control condition as well as other problem-solving methodologies to ensure quality of product.
• Use of functional measuring equipment.
• Interpret and work from complex drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Identify non-conformances found during the inspection of component parts and properly document such nonconformances in the DR System.
• Setup and maintain various types of tooling used within job function.
• Setup and operate various types of finishing equipment (grinders, CNC grinders, laps, hones, etc.) without assistance and maintain proper tolerances.
Maintain lubricating oils and cutting fluids to proper levels in machine.
• Read and interpret all gauging instruments such as micrometers and indicators.
• Utilize small hand tools to remove metal shavings from the interior and exterior of machined parts.
• Operate small air, electric, or battery powered rotary tools.
• Marking of parts via engraving or etching techniques.
• Ability to read and complete inspection ledger, inspection check sheet, operation sheet, move ticket and discrepancy report (DR) and other paperwork as necessary to comply with Quality Systems.
• Responsible for notifying supervisors when work received does not meet the specifications required by previous operators including paperwork requirements as observable.
• Performs operator defined TPM and/or 5S tasks as required.
• Responsible for returning all tools to their proper location at the end of the shift and cleaning work area.
• Proper use of all tools and gages necessary to complete and to verify that all work performed has been completed to specifications as required.
• Compliance to Manufacturing Self-Release Process (MSRP) and responsible for the quality of the product going to next operation.
• Other duties as required within the job classification and duties of lower classifications.

• High degree of manual dexterity required for complex assembly
• Good mechanical aptitude and excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to read blue prints and operate precision measuring equipment
• Prior experience using computers
• Knowledge of machining fundamentals and basic operation skills
• Ability to setup and operate numerically controlled machines
• Experience operating grinding equipment such as surface grinders, ID Grinders, OD Grinders, etc.

Qualifications:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Some machining experience
• Prior work experience with hydraulic systems in an aviation or military setting
• Understanding of and ability to manipulate complex mechanical systems
• Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement principles
• Experience in tool making
• Lapping

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or GED required

    • One of the following types of experience is required:
    • A minimum of two (2) years prior work experience performing assembly, test, metalworking, maintenance, or mechanical work

• An Associate's Degree or certificate in machining or technical field.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
