Eaton's Electrical Tripp Lite Business is currently seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Lead to join our team. This position is based at our Woodridge, IL location. Relocation assistant will not be provided.

Position Overview:

This position performs skilled work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of Eaton's mixed-use facility (office/lab/warehouse) infrastructure/systems, equipment, and tools. As a Lead position, this individual will be the primary maintenance representative during the second shift. This includes timely communication to various stakeholders, such as operations and office staff. This individual will be responsible for emergency

In this function you will:

  • Serves as primary emergency response coordinator for second shift
  • Executes lock-out /tag-out to safely deenergize equipment prior to
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains electrical distribution systems including electric motors, electric controls, fire alarms, and clock systems
  • Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new equipment and systems, including all various equipment (drill presses, bench grinders, conveyor systems, powered industrial trucks, dock locks and levelers, etc.) and programmable lighting controls
  • Ensures site fire alarms and other emergency systems are operational; performs certification testing as applicable
  • Maintains electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the county, state and federal levels
  • Monitor's work done by outside contractors for adherence to National Electrical Code (NEC) and other regulatory requirements, along with Eaton requirements
  • Demonstrate safe and proficient use of tools and equipment (including both hand and power tools)
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC's
  • Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge
  • Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction
  • Perform work from ladders, scaffolds, reach trucks, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Safely utilize a powered industrial truck and high lift
  • Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction
  • Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S+ standards.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned
  • Must be able to work flexible hours
  • Issue and close out work orders using Eaton's electronic preventative maintenance and work order management system.
  • Attend various operational team meetings, to offer any needed maintenance support
  • Coordinate with outside contractors to schedule required work
  • Work with immediate Supervisor to identify knowledge gaps and training opportunities to improve the departments efficiency
  • Facilitate continuous improvement projects to increase productivity and improve reliability through upgrades
  • Close out environmental, health, and safety related work orders (as needed)
  • Address facility issues, determine root cause and implement corrective action
  • Confer with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring additional training, and an understanding of changes in policies, procedures, and business initiatives.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in facility maintenance
  • General knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, NFPA, NEC)
  • Valid IL driver's license required with clean DMV record
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience within the Distribution Center industry or industrial manufacturing industry
  • Previous facility maintenance lead
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to work from blueprints, shop drawings, electrical schematics, and sketches
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action, including emergencies
  • Ability to close-out work orders on-time
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills; ability to respond to emails
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
