SENIOR ANALYST, DATA ANALYTICS, CONSUMER BRANDS
The Consumer Brands Analytics Team at Earnest is passionate about delivering actionable insights to help clients answer their key business questions. We provide data driven research to help the top retailers, restaurants, and technology companies in the world grow sales, retain customers, and identify new growth opportunities. As a member of the team, you will engage with C-Suite and VP-level clients and build analyses to inform their business strategy. You will be immersed in a fast-paced environment, with plenty of opportunity to learn and grow with the business. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker who enjoys working with clients to understand their needs and has a strong ability to story-tell with data.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage directly with clients’ and prospects’ strategy, marketing, analytics, and other teams to explain product offerings and present analyses to answer their key business questions
- Become a recognized thought leader in the industry by conducting media interviews, writing data insights pieces, and interfacing with clients
- Analyze large datasets in order to distill actionable insights for clients
- Pair data expertise with industry expertise to scope and execute custom projects for clients using Earnest datasets
- Create intuitive visualizations and reports that provide actionable insights to a broad audience
- Identify and investigate trends within the consumer economy using Earnest’s internal data sources (including consumer transaction and geo location data) as well as external data sources
- Combine signals from multiple datasets to make data-informed statements
- Gain a deep understanding of Earnest data and products, including differentiation from traditional market research and current competitors
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop a product roadmap that meets client needs
- Seek out areas for operational improvement and take initiative to address them
- Take initiative to deepen industry expertise including attending conferences, webinars, and industry events
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience, including an analytics-intensive role, preferably in management / strategy consulting, business intelligence, quantitative marketing, equity research, or market research
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal)
- Strong presentation skills, particularly with clients and prospects
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Previous client-facing experience
- Previous management experience
- Curious and thoughtful problem solver
- Proactive and solution-oriented; innovative and results-driven
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks with minimal oversight
- Ability to handle multiple tasks daily and meet project deadlines
- Extremely committed, hard-working, and thoughtful with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with programming and database query languages like SQL and Python
- Understanding of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Lookr, QlikView, Microstrategy, and Business Objects
- Experience working with cloud-based data solutions like Amazon AWS and Snowflake
- Proficiency with Github
