NEW PRODUCT DATA ANALYST

The Data Analyst team at Earnest is passionate about finding signals in the noise of large datasets, and has a strong interest in technology, consumer trends, and the private and public markets.  Quantifying both macro and micro trends in the consumer economy is our primary focus. As a part of the group, you will be immersed in a fast-paced environment, with infinite opportunity to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated problem solver capable of applying big picture thinking without losing sight of the details.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Analysis
    • Create and maintain insight products on private and public companies
    • Explore datasets to identify and investigate trends within the consumer economy
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data
  • Client Relationships
    • Interface directly with clients to present data and explain our product offerings
    • Serve as an industry and subject-matter expert on analyses
  • Product Development
    • Identify new product opportunities and work closely with our engineering team to implement ideas
    • Evaluate new data sets for potential product opportunities
    • Seek out areas for operational improvement and take initiative to address them

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or a related discipline from a top tier college/university
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in an analytical-intensive role such as corporate strategy, investment banking, equity research, private equity, or management consulting
  • Exceptional Excel skills
  • Ability to synthesize large datasets into meaningful insights
  • Possess the intellectual curiosity to investigate the “why” behind the numbers
  • Knowledge in accounting preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Familiarity with SQL, Tableau or similar database tools is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information and exercise exceptional judgment
