Director, Solutions Engineering - EMEA Region

On January 31, 2017 Oracle completed the acquisition of Dyn, which now operates as an Oracle Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) global business unit (GBU).

We are seeking a dynamic Director, Solutions Engineering to join our growing team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for refining, leading and scaling our Solutions Engineering team. The Director sets the vision, strategy, goals, fosters collaboration and motivates a team to achieve outstanding results and exceed customer expectations.  The key responsibilities include:

  • Lead world-class Solutions Engineering team
    • Lead, develop and coach team of Solutions Engineers and Architects to build capability and to create best in class methodologies.
    • Foster collaboration within the team and across the customer lifecycle.
    • Establish, refine and communicate departmental strategy in collaboration with the regional and solutions engineering leadership team.
  • Drive EMEA Solutions Engineering outcomes
    • Set lasting impressions about our technology, products, teams, and company.
    • Partner with business leadership to increase value into our new and current customer base to ensure the regional effectiveness (revenue acquisition). 
    • Represent client interest to collaborate in the design of long-term technology roadmap initiatives. 
    • Act as solutions evangelist for our sales force.
  • Enhance Solutions Engineering Effectiveness
    • Passion for technology, attuned to latest technological progress and market dynamics to ensure Dyn’s solutions remain marketable and competitive. 
    • Drive improvement through expert knowledge and leveraging internal and external networks and partnerships. 
    • Represent client interest to collaborate in the design of long-term technology roadmap initiatives. 
    • Dotted line leadership support of Customer Success initiatives.  


  • Strong business and technical background including progressively responsible experience in an technical solutions role sales role; competency typically achieved through (10) years of related experience. Minimum of (5) years in a leadership capacity, with demonstrated experience in driving business growth.  
  • Progressively responsible experience working in a SaaS organization; strong technical background.
  • Combined background of post-sale and sales experience is a plus.
  • Strong empathy for customers AND passion for revenue and growth.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and leverage those relationship to influence and drive improvement.
  • Highly competent in collecting, analyzing and interpreting complex data and translating it into business solutions.
  • Enthusiastic self-driven strategic and creative leader with the ability to inspire others.
  • The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to take initiative, adapt to change and growth and get things done.
  • Experience with SalesForce a plus.
