Curriculum Specialist for Spanish, MA

Help improve how millions of people learn languages on Duolingo.

We are looking for a curriculum specialist with sizeable experience teaching Spanish who has a vision for how Duolingo can teach better. You will join Duolingo’s learning team and support our efforts to provide quality education to millions of people for free.

Responsibilities:

  • Help achieve and maintain high quality standards in all of Duolingo’s products aimed at teaching Spanish
  • Design curricula and specific content for Duolingo’s Spanish courses
  • Propose new exercises and features that will improve the learning experience
  • Help create assessment tools to measure how Duolingo users learn

Requirements:

  • MA in teaching Spanish as a second language, applied linguistics, linguistics, second language acquisition, or a related field
  • Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
  • Experience teaching Spanish as a second language
  • Experience creating language curricula
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • A desire to make the world a better place through technology

Exceptional Candidates Will Have:

  • PhD in teaching Spanish as a second language, applied linguistics, linguistics, second language acquisition, or a related field
  • High proficiency in and experience teaching both Spanish and English
  • Proficiency in additional languages
