About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate individual with experience in building innovative applications through iterative software development methodologies. As a member of the Supply & Comply Engineering team you will help with design, implementation and launch of many key product & platform features. You will have influence on the technology roadmap, set standards, drive operational excellence, keep everyone honest to our standards and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.
The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering robust solutions that delight our customers as well as our internal stakeholders. A commitment to team work and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance applications requires exceptional technical expertise, a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.
Provide application architecture guidance for multiple scrum teams by collaborating on Design Sprints
Define and implement Proof-Of-Concept efforts for new capabilities and features
Write core building blocks for new capabilities, resolve coding issues and perform regular code reviews with the engineering teams
Determine best integration patterns and best practices in the application design
Build prototypes based on Code First or Design First methodologies
Review Buy vs Build options and perform technical due diligence
Support existing application teams in designing new enhancements and resolve performance issues
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, related technical discipline, or related industry experience
5+ years of software development experience
2+ years of designing end to end architectures
Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (preferably Java on a UNIX or Linux platform)
Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
Solid understanding of Design Patterns & Principles for Application Architecture
Experience designing and delivering software into the Cloud (AWS, Azure) using DevOps processes
Experience working on an engineering team using Agile processes (Scrum, Kanban)
Strong understanding of Microservices, Domain Driven Design, Test Driven Development
Experience dealing with large data sets and NoSQL technologies
Experience being a technical leader, who can work across teams and organizations, build consensus and deliver under pressure
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
