Job Description

Our Technology Team:

Technology is a global team that creates and operates the systems that deliver D&B data into our customer’s ecosystems. We eat, breathe, and dream of technologies that run our business today – and those that will transform the way we deliver value in the future.

Role Summary

Working collaboratively with business partners, development and infrastructure teams and the Enterprise Architect teams to define and document data architectures.

Identify new technologies for current and future applications in D&B solutions enabling the creation of data models/schema’s and the creation of a data inventory, enabling the implementation of the intended enterprise architecture and required to support the Data Content, Data Analytics and the different D&B lines of Business & Customer Needs.

Enable business opportunities and implement the data architecture through active participation on designated projects.

Work with business and other technology teams to establish accountability for data with respect to ownership of business definitions, adherence to data policies and conformance to standard data architectures/practice.

Works with the project teams to define data transformations that specify the rules for the integration/movement of data from the different unrelated sources up to the delivery of the data to the consuming applications/customers.Works with the project teams to define representative data set for the purposes of proofing the designed data architectures, the data transformation specifications, data related non-functional requirements and providing development and UAT teams with data for testing different test phases.

Maintains a D&B repository of all data architecture artefacts and procedures.Implements reporting/measurements to ensure

Data Accuracy, Consistency, and Timeliness, Provide leadership and direction to the Technology organization in how to deploy data architecture to meet business needs effectively (rapidly fulfilling requirements) and efficiently (simplifying and reducing unit costs over time) considering scalability, security, performance, data recovery, ….

Participate in the development of the data architecture strategy, policies, procedures, best practice and compliance with same for D&B, leading initiatives as needed.

Position Requirements:

Key Requirements:

3+ years experience within a data administration, data analysis or database development role with 1+ year of these as a Data Architect/Lead with experience managing data analyst teams in house and/or contractor’s, in a project capacity.

B.Sc. degree or higher in Computer Science or related discipline.

Experience working with development teams using Agile/Scrum methodology advantageous.

A genuine enthusiasm and interest in technology and software development with a thorough knowledge of data architecture trends, best practices, and new technologies with the drive to stay informed on upcoming trends.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as creativity and the ability to work with abstract concepts to create innovative and appropriate data architectural proposals and work to ensure their adoption.

Strong experience in Data Modeling Techniques, data warehousing, data administration.

Knowledge of large scale data systems and data integration, supporting both batch & transactional deliveries.

Experience with ETL tools, ESBs, JBoss, XML, XPath, XQuery, SQL, JSON, NoSQL and/or Graph DB; Neo4j, OrientDB, Redis, Hadoop, MongoDB or similar to support query optimization and performance tuning, also graph DB rendering tools such as Tom Sawyer, Linkurious or IBM Analyst notebook a distinct advantage.

Experience with XML in the context of XML to XML/JSON transformations, schema definitions, XML storage within databases and XQuery.

Experience with Informatica, SAP Data Services, Enterprise Architect, InfoSphere, ERWin and XMLSpy or equivalent tools advantageous.

Knowledge of designing production big data systems would be beneficial

Ability to communicate complex technical information and arguments clearly at all levels.

Excellent design skills, with experience of delivering end-to-end data architect artefacts, use-cases, data flow diagrams etc.
