The Information Technology group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. The Impact you will have in this role:
As a Lead Scrum Master, you will play a critical role in driving Agile delivery and ensuring project success across complex, enterprise-level initiatives. You will manage the Scrum process for geographically dispersed teams, applying deep Agile expertise and strong project management skills to deliver high-quality products on time and within scope. This role requires balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution, fostering collaboration across squads, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Agile Leadership
- Apply Agile principles and frameworks (e.g., Scrum) to maximize squad success.
- Coach Product Owner (PO) and squad to maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog with refined user stories.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and participate in Scrum of Scrums sessions to align priorities and dependencies.
- Balance delivery timeframes with continuous iteration to incorporate customer feedback effectively.

Project Management
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure delivery within scope and budget.
- Oversee requirements traceability, release management, test case management, and defect tracking.
- Coordinate code movement across environments (Development, Testing, UAT, Production) and related planning activities.
- Monitor progress, risks, and impediments; escalate issues and implement mitigation strategies.
Coaching & Facilitation
- Provide role-based coaching (PO, QA, Dev, etc.) and foster collaboration within and across teams.
- Create a safe environment for ceremonies to encourage active participation and mediate conflicts.
- Act as a change agent promoting continuous improvement and Agile maturity.
Reporting & Communication
- Deliver accurate, transparent updates to stakeholders with concise metrics on progress, risks, and impediments.
- Influence senior stakeholders and facilitate decision-making across multiple squads.
Risk & Control Alignment
- Integrate risk and compliance processes into daily responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risks effectively.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Talent needed for success
Agile Expertise
- Deep understanding of Agile principles, frameworks (Scrum, etc.), and tools.
- Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master with exposure to Product Owner responsibilities.
Project Management Skills
- Strong experience in planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and delivery management.
- Proven ability to manage projects within defined processes, budgets, and timelines.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle and release management.
Leadership & Communication
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport across teams and influence stakeholders.
Certifications
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) required or highly preferred.
- Product Owner certification (CSPO, PSPO) a plus.
- PMP or other project management certifications a strong advantage.
- Additional Agile certifications (SAFe, LeSS) a plus.
Tools/Technical Skills:
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Project Management platforms like PPM, SharePoint (or similar content management systems), and visual collaboration tools including Figma or Zoom Workspace is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with Business Process Management (BPM) tools and SQL queries is also a plus.
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC's business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology.
